Self defence experts!

Surfing the net as i do most days searching for new material to use on my classes or to implement in my self defence programs I often come across "experts" who are selling DVD`s, books and programs on how to defend yourself, I am still shocked how these guys are getting away it!! Apart from the rubish " buying this book will enable you to win every street fight" quotes and claims of defeating bigger and stronger fighters. I have just come across one guy who makes a mockery of self defence, I wont mention any names but he is a very well known American martial artist, in his advert he goes on to say he will teach you how to defend yourself by going through a series of "katas" and then implementing these katas into real life self defence situations, I mean....katas!! then he goes on to say other things you will learn to do including the art of bowing....what planet are these guys on?? I think some instructors are still living in the 80s and have watched "karate kid" just a few too many times. Stop writing guys and go back to teaching your crap to your 5 loyal students who wouldnt know how to defend themselves if there life depended on it!! now thats ironic....
