I love searching the internet for interesting material I could use with my students or sharing with other Martial arts professionals on my blog and yesterday didn’t disappoint me!
I read a great article on site that I subscribe to that targets Martial arts professionals and it made some very interesting points about class tuition fees and the current economic downturn that we face in the world right now. The main view was that most instructors had put prices up, and we are no different, just last month we raised our senior class tuition fees by 10 euro's per month per person, not a great amount I hear you say but we didn’t lower them!
I genuinely believe that most people are now starting to understand the actual value of martial arts and the benefits of correct training principles. I also believe that we need to educate parents that we are not just an extracurricular activity; we are indeed a very important life skill.
I am very proud of the fact that we have a good membership base but the reason why is that people go away and tell other people about us as opposed to getting calls from advertising, we have to do all the advertising and marketing we can as well as this generates interest and gets our name recognised but it is the word of mouth clients that really put bums on seats!!
