A question from Leon

I was asked today by one of my up and coming instructors on what I thought was my best physical weapon, i.e. what I would use to defend myself to give the maximum effect......I thought about it for a minute or so and said that every situation was different and I would use what I thought would be the best “tool for job” when it presented itself. Let me explain myself, In Thai boxing (and I only use Thai because they actually say what they use, not like some other arts that add things when the instructor runs out of things to teach) they use the 8 weapons, hands, knees, elbows and legs. In Ju Jitsu and more to the point self defence you should use anything and everything!....ok... there are different forms of Ju Jitsu but I am talking about the style I teach. This is why Martial arts and self defence differ, there are things that your martial arts instructor will not tell you because there`s is an art form. And, I have no problem with that, in fact I love all arts, I just don’t like instructors who dress there`s up as a true self defence when it blatantly isn’t.

I believe in distraction and hit...not once but several times.

For more information on taking a self defence course or even becoming an instructor call me or email me for information.
