Thank you for taking the time out to look at my blog. The reason I created it was to offer some practical advice to anyone who was interested in Self-Defence. I took a look on the web at the likes of eBay and YouTube to see what was on offer but it seemed quite advanced for a brand new beginner. To be honest I think it could frighten most people off. Some of the techniques where extremely good but there was no real content to explain how you got into the position to execute a move on an opponent or there just wasn’t enough content and you had to buy DVD 2,3 and 4 just to see 10 moves because they repeated themselves over and over again. By the way I hate it when people explain themselves thinking that their audience automatically knows what they are talking about using language that only they know, I'm sure you have met such people! So if I slip up and go off on one (which I sometimes do) please let me know and I will be more thorough with my explanation.
About 10 years ago we as a company decided that martial arts was great and our membership proved that we were successful but we wanted to appeal to a wider audience so we went into local schools and approached business`s to promote a new system for everyday self defence situations. Actually it wasn’t new, we just adapted most of the moves that we taught to our black belts and put them into real life everyday situations. It was so well received that we concentrated on building that side of the business up to where it is today.
Not only do we teach the course itself but we have teachers who wish to teach it to their pupils and come on teacher training courses at our centre in Preston, UK.
The corporate side of the business teaching systems to adults who work with the public or money or in special care situations has to be taught differently as every company has different requirements, so we tend to go into a company and stay with them for half a day and get to see what their requirements are and we can tailor make a course to suit. If the client is happy with the price and the course layout we usually work in a small group to get the most out of the course and tend to run it over several days taking into account how may staff we are teaching.
The school short self defence course is taught over a six week period. The first lesson is totally free of charge and is normally done in a PE lesson, 45 minutes to an hour. If after this initial free taster session the teachers and pupils wish to carry on with the further five remaining classes a letter of acceptance on to the course is drafted by ourselves and given out to the pupils by the teachers to be signed by the parents and returned to us agreeing to pay, normally with payment attached and kept by the school until the course is finished. We then organise the dates and times with the teachers, again normally in PE time and we then start the five further lessons. These can be done on a weekly basis or on a daily basis, whichever you choose. At the end of the course the student receives a certificate which can be put into their year of achievement book. The kids get to try something new taught by someone new in a really fun and informative way, it can really break a term up not just for the students but also for the teachers.
If you would like some information on either of these courses please don’t hesitate to contact me and I can give you some references and testimonials from clients whom I'm sure wouldn’t mind you getting in touch just to check that we are who we say we are. Also we can discuss prices for courses and any special discounts that we may be running at that particular time.
Please call 667419064 for an informal chat, I look forward to talking with you.

Hi Carl,
Wow, you´ve done really well considering its your first go. Blog looks great.
Good luck with your new business I hope it all goes well. Schools are a great idea, lots of after school activities go on here. I know there is a school in Cancelada K Zeta or something similar and they were looking for teachers and extra activities.
Good luck
